FITNESS INSTRUCTORS

Deidra, Yoga.

Deidra stumbled upon Yoga while studying Theatre at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She completed 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training at Greenhouse Holistic in Brooklyn, NY and received 300-hr Certification through Yoga Sukhavati. As an artist, Deidra has explored movement and breath as natural ways of expression.  She incorporates healing practices from Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, Reiki, and art background to shape a creative and playful flow to her classes. 

Dina, Yoga.

A former competitive gymnast and student of martial arts, Dina has loved leading an active lifestyle from a young age. She earned her certification in Group Exercise in 2002 through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. In 2010,  she became a certified Vinyasa Instructor and completed Sonic Yoga's 200-hour Teacher Training Program. She strives to offer accessible, fun classes with personalized playlists that inspire students at all levels to go beyond their perceived limits.

Amanda, Spin.

Born and raised in New York, Amanda reinvigorated her personal commitment to her physical and personal well being by pursuing her certification in spin instruction. When asked about her philosophy to training, her response is simple and poignant: "I bring the same passion and positivity that I have for life to the spin room! Health and happiness are the best components to positive living!" Aside from teaching spin class, Amanda currently teaches students with disabilities in Brooklyn.

Danielle, Yoga.

Danielle Savin, an Anusara Inspired teacher, has been studying yoga since 2000 and is currently teaching yoga in New York City. Along with her technical knowledge, Danielle brings a sense of sweetness and pure fun to each of her classes. She focuses on specific alignment  aspects as well as therapeutic concerns unique to each individual.

 

Ola, Yoga.

Ola’s teaching encapsulates the celebration of the human heart with concise principles of alignment. Certified in Anusara Yoga in 2008, Ola encourages her students to recognize the vast potential of their bodies and hearts by helping them to identify their strengths and therapeutically address their limitations or injuries.   Ola offers a meditation and yoga practice for high school students with Yoga Within Reach to promote health and wellness for NYC communities.

Maja, Spin.

Hailing from Croatia by way of Chicago, Maja has 8 years of experience in fitness, including Spin, TRX, Personal Trainer certifications and a BS in Movement Sciences from the University of Illinois in Chicago. She combines her passion for excercise, fitness, and music to create intense, inspiring, and high energy Spin classes. Expect new challenges and fresh playlists each week to motivate riders to push harder and get better, stronger, and healthier. Maja's mantra for her riders: Just show up!

Megan, Pilates.

As a lifelong athlete, actor, singer, dancer, and former competitive gymnast, Megan developed an immense passion for fitness and Pilates. She received her Pilates certification from Jill Cassady (pupil of protege Romana Kryzanowska) and is experienced in the sport of kettlebell and barbell training.  Megan loves to work with people with injuries, especially spine issues, and helps clients bridge the gap between their Pilates practice and daily workout routine.

Karrie, Pilates.

It was the arrival of Karrie's son, Chester, in 1998 that first brought her into the Pilates studio. The results were so amazing that she delved into the practice by studying with Master Instructor, Romana Kryzanowska, a protégé of Joseph Pilates. Inspired by the method, Karrie wrote two books on Pilates and shared her story with the world.  She continues to teach new parents, athletes, the elderly, and those looking to feel great in their bodies and get in shape.

 

Siobhan, Spin.

Siobhan is a Certified Spinning Instructor and has been passionate about indoor and outdoor cycling for over a decade.  She believes in the value of finding balance in life; and creating space to take care of ourselves is a big part of that.  Siobhan has her doctorate in clinical psychology and views physical activity is key to both healthy body and mind.  She likes to keep her classes tough but the music and atmosphere fun!

Erin, Spin. 

Erin Kelly combines hip-hop beats with high energy coaching to create a unique, challenging spin class that's fun and empowering.  Erin is a Mad Dogg certified spin instructor and avid cyclist. On her latest adventure, she spent 2 weeks cycling through the countryside of southern Spain. A Los Angeles native, Erin currently lives in Brooklyn and works full time as the Creative Project Manager for Complex Media.

Filip, Spin.

Born and raised in Poland, Filip is an ex-pro cyclist who has competed in races worldwide. Living in the States since 2000, Filip brings his love of cycling to the spin room where he helps bring joy and a healthy lifestyle to others with his high energy and determination. Filip's classes bridge the gap between cycling outdoors and spinning inside with good vibes and good music.

Naz, Yoga.

Naz's love for yoga began when she arrived to New York from Turkey when she grew to depend on the comfort and strength that yoga afforded. She completed her 200-hour RYT training at Kula Yoga Project. She strives to help her students find a home on their mats and in their own bodies. Her classes are generally a creative vinyasa sequence, weaving in pranayama, bandha, and meditation practices.  

 

 
Claire, Mat Pilates

Claire, Mat Pilates.

Claire is a former ballet dancer who trained at the Royal Ballet School in London and performed with major ballet companies in Europe. Her interest in the human body led her to obtain her Pilates certification from Power Pilates in 2008. Since then she has developed her interest further focusing on Pilates benefits for the body and its ability to alleviate injuries and chronic conditions.  She believes in mind body balance to lead a healthier life. She is an avid runner who ran many half marathons, practices yoga and enjoys many sports disciplines. 

Christie, Yoga.

Christie Roe intends to make yoga useful and enjoyable for everyone.  A California native, she trained extensively with living masters in the householder tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya, where yoga is adapted to the individual, not vice versa.  All of her sessions, from the rigorous to the restorative, are designed to harmonize the unique forces of breath, focus, and balance in each student.

Annie, Mat Pilates.

Annie is passionate for movement and loves to share its body-changing, life-enhancing magic with others to help them reach their goals every day. She views exercise as a daily movement practice for body, mind and soul and infuses that philosophy into each class she teaches, be it Pilates, barre or dance. Certified at True Pilates New York in 2013 in the lineage of Romana Kryzanowska, Annie blends her background in ballet and West African dance with barre and fitness modalities to create thorough, challenging classes that are effective, fun, and satisfying for the soul. She holds a Master’s in African Dance Studies from NYU and is an ACE-certified group fitness instructor.

Matt, Spin

Matt is dedicated to providing safe and effective workouts for people of all fitness levels. In addition to instructing spin and leading bootcamps at various gyms in the area, he is an avid runner having completed numerous marathons, ultra marathons and endurance races. His enthusiastic shouts of encouragement are contagious and sure to make you push yourself to the max each and every work out. 

 

Jayne, Yoga.

Jayne offers an inward yet physically challenging practice, leading the dance between effort and ease steadily and softly.  Her path into teaching has been led by her own intense curiosity towards higher connection and deeper self - discovery.  She wishes for all her students to feel safe and free in their bodies. When she is not teaching yoga she is attending dance parties all over planet earth.

Sully, Spin.

Sully's love of spin was born out of necessity.  As a father of three, he needed something that would help him build the endurance needed to balance a hectic work schedule and fun/crazy home life.  A fellow Greenpoint native introduced Sully to Spin and he was hooked immediately.  He has been at it ever since.  With eclectic playlists ranging from Reggae to Rock and his deliberate, yet firm, instructing style, he will help you achieve your desired goals.

Megan, Yoga.

I am a fun free spirit with an open heart & mind. My love affair with yoga began in 2009, while working for a yoga apparel company in Miami, FL and in 2014 I completed my 200 hr training with Greg Fine on Long Island, NY. Off of my mat you can find me spending time with my family & friends, hanging out with my dog, at the beach, cycling, traveling, and trying new things. I love making people laugh, and I make sure not to take life too seriously. My love for yoga goes far beyond the physical practice and I truly believe that yoga makes the world a better place one person at a time.
