Classes

We offer training and fitness classes for every level so you can increase your skill and strength while cross training and avoiding injury. Classes are small so everyone can get the individual attention they need. 

Group Training Session

 

Beginner GT

Monday - Saturday
Various times

Focused on building a strong foundation for basic movement patterns, such as the squat, deadlift, and lunge as well as upper-body pushing and pulling movements. Members will also gain proficiency using sandbags and kettlebells.

Level 2 Group Training

Monday - Saturday
Various times

This circuit-based class combines both traditional and unconventional resistance training methods to incorporate gains in both strength and fat loss. We build upon the basic movements established in the Beginner GT class with increased intensity, speed, and multi-directional movement.

HIIT

Monday - Saturday
Various times

High Intensity Interval Training is a proven method to improve cardio-respiratory function and aid in fat loss. Class begins with a warm-up followed by agility and jump training that leads into a variety of fast paced intervals. Class ends with core work and a cool-down.

MASS

Tuesday & Thursday
8am - 9am, 6pm - 7pm

Saturday

Coach Azuka will introduce trainees to a variety of training techniques to optimize maximal muscle growth. Following traditional splits, this class is open to lifters of all levels, seeking to train effectively for size and strength. It's like having a personal trainer but without the cost!

 

North Brooklyn Kettlebell Club

Tuesday

Our Kettlebell class takes the basic movement patterns we use in everyday life and integrates them into a format that develops overall strength and athleticism. Learn how to swing, squat, press, and perform classic lifts for fat loss, power, and elasticity. 

Boxing

Monday
8am - 9am

With gloves and mitts, get ready to feel the burn in this high intensity boxing class. The instructor will lead you through a boxing workout that incorporates jump rope, shadow boxing, pad work, agility drills, and strength training. There will be no sparring in this class. All levels welcome.

Punch, HIIT, Sweat

Danielle Burrell, personal trainer and USA Boxing certified coach brings her unique blend of conditioning and interval training to BAC. This class will utilize a variety of conditioning drills and boxing techniques with an added emphasis on glutes and abs. Be prepared to work, sweat, and have fun.

Olympic Weightlifting

Monday & Wednesday

7pm - 8:30pm

In partnership with Brooklyn Barbell Club, we offer a class specifically on the fundamentals of the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. Coach Joey Swidler and Coach Sarah Revenig lead this course for weightlifters from beginning to advanced levels.

Semi-Private Strength X

This class will begin with a strength focus utilizing the power rack for heavy barbell lifts. This will lead into very challenging conditioning circuits following the movement pattern from the strength lifts. Get ready to be smoked! Strength X is open to all SPT members, but it is strongly recommended that you participate in both Strength and Level 2 GT to acquaint yourself with barbell movements and raise your conditioning intensity.

The program is comprised of a series of SPT sessions that focus on the big three lifts: deadlift, bench press, and squat. Trainees of all levels are welcome and will learn how to properly set-up and use the power racks for all the lifts, change/track weights, additional exercises to help build muscle and technique, and most importantly, the basic fundamentals of listing big!

Semi-Private Body Weight Training

Bodyweight movements and progressions, with occasional weightlifting for assistance purposes. Consistent use of progressions derived from standard and proven gymnastics, as well as integration into basic movement patterns. Increased range of motion and improved mobility, flexibility, joint stability and integrity, strength, balance, muscle and bone density, physique.

BAC - HTK

BAC is now offering Semi Private Training sessions taught by founder and Master Trainer Larry Betz. This new class is titled "Hard To Kill" because, and we quote professional strength coach Mark Rippetoe, "Strong people are harder to kill than weak people...and more useful in general." Level 2 Group Training will be a prerequisite for this class. The first rule about HTK is no one can talk about HTK...until you leave HTK then please tell all your friends. The sessions will be broken down into four 15 minute blocks devoted to several different fitness qualities. 

Block 1 - Explosive Power/ Speed work and/or movements in multiple planes of motion. 

Block 2 - Our primary compound lift- developing Strength

Block 3 - Accessory work with the goal of adding strength and muscle

Block 4 - The finisher, a combination of sprinting, rowing, farmer carries, truck tier and an assortment of odd objects making the client's ultimately...Hard To Kill!

 

 

Group Fitness Classes

Mat Pilates

Designed to improve physical strength, flexibility and posture, Mat Pilates stresses quality of movement over quantity of movement and focuses on strengthening both the mind and body through controlled movement. Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance with an emphasis on alignment, breathing, coordination and balance. The exercises in Mat Pilates focus on strengthening the muscles of the hips, back, abdominals and glutes.

Spin

Daily
Various times

Designed to simulate terrain and situations similar to riding a bike outdoors, spin class is coached with music to create an energized atmosphere on our Schwinn Indoor Cycling Bikes. Instructors guide you through a warm-up, steady uptempo cadences, sprints, climbs, and a cool-down. Spin class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Glutes & Abs

Strengthen, sculpt, and tone the core and glutes. This 30 minute class will begin with a series of light resistance training and core strengthening exercises that activate the lower body and condition the engagement of the abs, hips, thighs, and glutes to enhance your every day workout.

Yoga

We offer Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Deep Flow Yoga, Candlelit Vinyasa Flow, and Deep House Yoga! Come check out the variety of options and instructors. When the weather is nice, we love to open the studio doors and have class on the roofdeck.

HIIT Hop Cycle

HIIT Hop Cycle is a 60-minute Indoor Cycling workout set to themed playlists featuring your fave rap artists, from old school to the new! The class is meant to strengthen cardiovascular health and endurance, as well as aid with weight loss. Get your Sweat On at the Hip-Hop Concert on a Bike!
